Frequently Asked Questions
When are your pet sitting services available?
Every day! Charlotte City Pets offers in-home pet care services 7am – 9pm, 7 days a week/365 days a year.
How often should you visit to care for my cat?
The cat care minimum requirement is one visit per day though some cat owners prefer morning and evening visits.
How much do you charge?
Rates vary depending on how much time and attention you want for your pet. Pet sitting and cat care rates include up to 2 cats. Please see Services for more details.
How do I get started with Charlotte City Pets?
Completing the Pet Care Request Form is the fast and easy way to determine if your needs and CCP’s availability are a good match. Alternatively, you can send an email, call for a chat, or set up an account through the Precise Petcare app. CCP strives to make the process as quick and painless as possible!
Why is a Meet & Greet necessary?
The in-person Meet & Greet is complimentary and required for all new clients. It gives all parties an opportunity to get to know each other and is especially important for pets to meet their new caretaker in the presence of loving owners. As a general rule, shy cats do not make themselves personally available to strangers, but the consultation still works by introducing timid pets to the stranger’s lingering scent.
What if I get a new pet/change the locks/change addresses?
In addition to the free Meet & Greet, sometimes clients request a visit to meet new pets, to check out home alterations, visit a new home address, or the locks have been changed. For these visits, a regular visit/walk will be scheduled. Alternatively, clients can review instructions over the phone, via email, or update their client profile at no charge.
Can I book service at the last minute?
Yes! If Charlotte City Pets has availability, your pet can be added to the schedule at the last minute.
Can I pay online?
Yes, Charlotte City Pets accepts credit cards (also checks if you prefer paper).
Should I tip my pet sitter?
A gratuity is not required but will always be appreciated. If you do wish to leave a tip, please write a separate check in the pet sitter’s name or leave cash.
Do you have cancellation policies?
Yes. Any non-holiday pet care service canceled 24 hours before care begins will not be charged. If a recurring weekday dog walk is canceled by 4 pm the day before, you will not be charged. Find all the details at Policies.
Can you administer medication to my pet?
Charlotte City Pets can administer topical or oral medication if the pet does not object to being handled.
Do you return my keys/fob/key card after I return home?
Charlotte City Pets will be happy to return your keys/fob/card after you return home. Some situations may involve pickup and drop-off fees.
Are you trained in pet first aid?
Yes, trained and re-certified (Sep 2025) in pet first aid and CPR.
What happens when the weather is bad?
Rain or shine, scorching hot or frosty cold, Charlotte City Pets will be there for your pets. Summer downpours with thunder and lightning can alter the dog walking schedule. However, your dog’s patience will be rewarded when the storm subsides. Rest assured when severe weather happens, you will be kept in the loop.
Do you have a referral program?
Yes! You will receive $20 off your next booking when the friend, family, neighbor, or co-worker you refer completes a service with us.
